Why did you develop Resourcefulness?
Resourcefulness was developed by Dr. Michael E. Webber and The University of Texas at Austin, with support from Itron, Inc., to meet two important goals:
- To give learners free access to lessons that build energy and water literacy.
- To help close the STEM workforce gap by preparing future workers with essential knowledge and skills
How is the Resourcefulness course and the digital badge offered at no cost?
Resourcefulness is made possible through funding and support from Itron, Inc. Their sponsorship allows The University of Texas at Austin to provide this high-quality professional development course free of charge.
Is the Resourcefulness Digital Badge accredited?
No, the Resourcefulness Digital Badge is not the same as traditional academic accreditation. Instead, digital badges are verifiable digital records issued by The University of Texas at Austin that recognize your completion of specific learning and skill development. Each badge carries embedded data to confirm its authenticity and can be shared professionally to highlight your accomplishments.
How do I receive proof of completion?
Upon finishing a course, participants should receive an email to their registered address with the official certificate of completion from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as instructions on how to download and display your new digital badge.
Can these courses be used for educator professional development hours?
Upon completion, participants will receive an official certificate of completion issued by the Resourcefulness program (Webber Energy Group) as well as a digital badge distributed by the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. In alignment with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy guidelines, this program qualifies for 4 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit. However, participants are encouraged to confirm with their HR department or licensing agency to ensure the certificate is accepted for professional development credit.
